Physiotherapy for Breathing Pattern Disorders is group of Chartered Physiotherapists with an interest in breathing disorders who wish to promote better breathing and provide resources for members of the public and other physiotherapists or health professionals.
This document sets out how Physiotherapy for Breathing Pattern disorders will use any personal information that we collect about you, or that you provide us with , how this will be processed by us according to the Data Protection Act 1998 and GDPR 2018.
We may collect or you may provide us with details such as your name, address, telephone number, CSP number, HCPC number, place of work, job title, employer, name and home address. This will occur when you complete a form on one of our web pages, contact us by email or register for our study days or CPD sessions. We collect this information in order to verify your identity and by joining our group you consent to us keeping your details.
Audits will be completed yearly to ensure that we hold the correct information on you and that it is up to date. We are aware that your details may change and that you may not make us aware of this, the audit will ensure accuracy of our information and it will be completed by our data protection officer.
Sharing personal information:
When you join our group you are asked if you would like your information to be displayed on our website. This is for the purpose of potential patients finding you and requesting treatment or other health professionals attempting to make contact with you. You will be asked what information you would like to be displayed and can change this at any time. You have the right to refuse your information being made public. Your information will not be shared with third parties this includes marketing companies.
You will be emailed yearly to ensure you details are up to date and members will receive a quarterly newsletter by email.
Your information will be processed to ensure that we provide you with member benefits which form part of Physiotherapy for Breathing Pattern Disorder’s group, for potential patients / professional colleagues to access your details on our “find a physio section” if you agree to this being made public, for the administration of your membership and our courses.
By submitting your data you agree to this, we will ensure that only the data you wish to be displayed publically is. We cannot however guarantee the security of your data but will do all we can to protect your data. All our online forms are encrypted and details can’t be accessed.
Our website currently holds an SSL certificate and we use Mail chimp and google analytics to support our web based work. These companies hold their own privacy notices and shields according to The E.U-U.S and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks.
Storage of data:
You have the right to terminate your membership or have your data which appears publically removed at any time. We currently use Godaddy, amazon S3 for data storage. These are U.S based companies but they comply with The E.U-U.S and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks
